Bill's Blades
One at a time, with care. All my knives are hand made by myself here in my shop. I purchase raw materials and use these to make a completed knife. As you will notice, I work almost exclusively in damascus steel for my blades. All the damascus I use is made by myself, here in my shop from 1080 & 15N20 high carbon steels. These steels forge weld together well and make a very solid blade without voids or flaws. High carbon damascus makes for an aggressive cutting edge that will hold up extremely well before needing sharpening again. Layer counts can vary from 60 to over 300 individual layers of steel according to the pattern being used in a knife. I heat treat each blade using either high temperature salts or an electric oven that is specifically made for heat treatment of steels. Both are capable of very precise temperature control. After each blade is fully hardened it is then tempered to achieve the proper final hardness. This assures the knife owner that the blade will give many, many years of good use. I make my own sheaths for each knife. Every sheath is custom cut and fitted for each individual knife and hand sewn. I use vegetable tanned, top grade, heavy weight leather. The belt loops are securely sewn on and fit up to a 2" wide belt. These pages can be graphic intensive and may take awhile to load if you still have a slow modem. We accept PayPal, personal checks, cashiers checks, and money orders in US dollars. Item ships when payment method clears. Thanks for looking, and I hope my poor photography skills do justice to the knives. Drop me a note and check availability before sending funds. -- Thanks These pictures are hyperlinks - click on them to see larger views. LAST UPDATE 4/13/08
